The trend is in the details….

I’m not one for a 100 % trendy wardrobe but I do think, one needs to ‘update’ the ol’ wardrobe from season to season. To do just that this winter season, pay attention to and try to include some of these fabrics & textures in your wardrobe:

Leather /Pleather

• Simple Ruffles (they’ll be hanging around for Spring 2010!)

• Add a burlesque touch to your outfits with some Lace

Bows and ribbon Detailing

Draping (I particularly like the draped cardigans this winter)

Faux Fur

Metallic

Embellishment

In every shape or form: sequins (disco fever refuses to leave building AND you can rock it as daywear this season), beading, crystals, feathers, rhinestones, pompoms etc - customisation is big.

In fact, you can customise your existing clothes by simply making or adding your own touches. The more the merrier! An easy way to do this look is to go for golden footwear, shiny bags, head-wear or mirror shine molten legwear.

Studs

For the fastest on-trend update, add aggressive hardware statements to your outfits in the form of pyramid or round punk style studs.

Studded belts, studded footwear especially ankle boots and studded suede bags are the fastest route,

but biker jackets, gilets and dresses can also feature studs.

• Exposed Zippers

Autumn-Winter 2009-2010 collections are full of zippers. They are on shoes, handbags, on classic and rock-inspired clothes.
